Introduction: In the current controversy over creation and evolution, it is a rare event indeed to find something on which those in both camps agree wholeheartedly. There is one thing, however, on which both creationists and evolution ists do agree: evolution is impossible if the Earth is young (with an age measured in thousands, not billions, of years).

The Christian and Medical Ethics (3rd Ed)

      $0.00

      Author: Bert Thompson, Ph.D.
      Publisher: Apologetics Press; 1987, 1999, 2004
      Format: Digital; 232pp
      ISBN: 0-932859-73-9
Introduction: On October 13, 2001—just thirty-three short days after the World Trade Center tragedy—America lost eight more pre cious innocent souls. It was not until Sunday, November 25, 2001, that scientists at Advanced Cell Technology, Inc. an nounced they had created human embryos through a pro cess known as somatic nuclear transfer (cloning). [This is the same group of scientists who reported in the May 22, 1998 is sue of Science that they had created a “transgenic” cow/hu-man hybrid embryo.] In discussing their latest endeavor to clone humans, Dr. Michael West, president and CEO of the company, remarked: “I don’t think this is safe yet for human reproduction” (see CNN, 2001), and he then stressed that he does not support cloning to create human beings as a means of reproduction. However, his overall goals are not as altruis tic as they might first appear. While Dr. West and his colleagues do not support human cloning as a means of human repro duction, they have absolutely no problem creating human embryos through cloning in order to extract the precious stem cells of which those embryos are composed. West argued: “There are people out there, people we all care for, who are suffering and dying and need therapies now” (CNN, 2001). How is it that we now find ourselves trying to redefine human life?

      $0.00

      Author: Bert Thompson, Ph.D.

      Format: Digital; 70pp
      ISBN: 0-932859-74-7
Introduction: One of the most mind-numbing mysteries for those who believe in God is trying to understand the unbelief of those who do not. As one who writes and lectures often on the top ics of apologetics and evidences, I frequently am asked, “What causes people not to believe in God?” Generally speaking, the motive behind the question is not derogatory, but com plimentary. That is to say, the querist really is asking: “Why is it that obviously intelligent people do not believe in God?”

The Origin, Nature, & Destiny of the Soul

      $0.00

      Author: Bert Thompson, Ph.D.
      Publisher: Apologetics Press; 2001, 2005
      Format: Digital; 99pp
      ISBN: 0-932859-42-9
Introduction: Throughout the whole of human history, man has struggled to find answers to any number of important (yet often difficult) questions that have to do with his origin, existence, nature, and destiny. Such queries as “Whence have I come?,” “Why am I here?,” and “Where am I going?,” routinely in trigue and enthrall each of us. Securing clues to the exact make up of the creature known popularly as Homo sapiens always has been one of mankind’s keenest intellectual pursuits. And along the way, perhaps no single topic has perplexed us, or piqued our interest, as much as that pertaining to the origin, nature, and destiny of the soul.
